In an ongoing investigation, police have now charged a teenager in a case that started with a hashtag on Instagram.

After a post, which has since been taken down, a teenager from Canada is now charged with threatening Hanover High School. According to WMUR, posting the hashtag "Hanover school shooting," authorities in Hanover and Lebanon worked with officials across the border. They were able track the location to a residence in Canada, where a home was searched and electronic devices were seized. While the authorities stateside have not been able to examine the seized items, Canadians on the case were reported to be currently investigating.

According to the report, police said the threat included the use of a firearm, but did not identify any specific people or times.

This is not the first case in the Granite State where a teen was charged with calling in threats to a school, but is believed to be the first international case for New Hampshire.
