(Rochester, NH) -  Rochester Police, Fire, Frisbie EMS and Dover EMS responded to a single car motor vehicle accident on Gonic Road, Route 125, near the Rochester Country Club.  The accident was reported to be a rollover with injury where one person was out of the vehicle and the other was still inside.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Dodge Caravan,  driven by Shauntelle Fitts, 25,  of  Barrington, was travelling south on Gonic Road when the vehicle struck the guardrail, crossed over into the opposite lane of travel, went down the embankment, rolled over and struck a tree.  The vehicle was discovered resting on driver’s side with the roof against a tree.  Fitts’ passenger, Deana Spencer, 42, of Barrington, was thrown from the vehicle.

Spencer was transported by Frisbie Paramedics to Skyhaven Airport where she was flown to Maine Medical Center by DART with serious, but non- life threatening injuries.  Fitts was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  The vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time, however neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.  Neither Fitts nor Spencer appeared to be wearing their seatbelt.
