Yikes! This is bad news for breakfast lovers.

According to WMUR-TV, over 29,000 pounds of Jimmy Dean Sausage has been recalled after the The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service raised concerns about pieces of metal finding their way into the sausage.

WMUR-TV says the recall is for 23.4-oz. pouches of “Jimmy Dean HEAT ’n SERVE Original SAUSAGE LINKS Made with Pork & Turkey” with a Use By date of Jan. 31, 2019.

If you have some in your freezer, take a look for “EST. 19085” printed on the back of the packages. If you have any of the sausage, the USDA suggests you throw the package away or return it to the store where you bought it.

You can also contact the Jimmy Dean customer service line at (855) 382-3101.

As a side note...here's something you may not have known about Jimmy Dean. Before he became a sausage king he was a singer. He had a big hit in 1961 called Big Bad John.
