This Saturday is one of my favorite New England traditions, Apple Harvest Day in downtown Dover!

The Chamber of Commerce in Dover close down the downtown area and people from all around (about 50,000 and over 400 vendors, according to a report by the Union Leader)  come by to try all the tasty treats that will be available.  There will also be craftspeople to sell their wares, which is my favorite part, live music and more!

  1. Harvey's Bakery, a legendary Dover bakery, always shows up big with some magical confection, so don't miss that!  You MUST try their maple squares if you haven't done so yet.
  2. The story in the Union Leader also reminded me that Apple Harvest Day is the only day of the entire year that I will eat a candied apple and I am happy that Sweet Seasons Farm and Artisan Confections of St. Johnsbury, Vermont will be there with their caramel apples.  Believe me, I'm not normally a fan, but after I saw it one year, I had to have it and I've not missed it since.
  3. The will be two great areas for the kids:  Lower Henry Law Park will be turned into a KidZone with pony rides and a roaming train.  Also a second one in the Ross Furniture parking lot.

Classic Hits, 102.1 and 105.3, The Shark will be there, of course AND our sister station, WOKQ will be there for the apple pie contest!  Enter yours on Saturday before 11am!
