5 Items You Can Put in Your Dishwasher and 1 You Shouldn’t

From ball caps to flip flops, there are a lot of items that will stand up to a cycle or two through the dishwasher. However, there is one that you should NEVER try.

According to Real Simple, your dishwasher isn't just for washing dishes. Check out some of the items that will hold up during a wash cycle:

Hats - don't wash with dirty dishes or you'll get food particles stuck in the hat

Rain Boots - take the liners out and place them horizontally in the dishwasher

Flip Flops - Hook them on the tines on the top rack

Sports equipment - mouth guards, shin guards, knee pads, etc

Action figures/small toys - toss in a mesh lingerie bag and place in top rack

BUT...don't put Barbie through the dishwasher, her hair will look like this...
