If your Driver License or Non-Driver Identification Card expires before October 1, 2020, you may wait until your renewal to switch to REAL ID. If your renewal falls after October, 1, 2020, you should make the switch as soon as possible (ID cards that are REAL ID-compliant are marked with a star in the top-right corner).

Beginning October 1, 2020, the Transportation Security Administration and federal offices will not accept identification cards that don't meet this standard.

Again, the DMV locations listed above are open on the second Saturday of each month for REAL ID transactions only. All other DMV business can be conducted during normal DMV business hours.
