A Salem Police Officer Has Lost His Rifle

( Salem, N.H. ) - Police in Salem are looking for a rifle that fell off the back of a cruiser as an officer drove out of the police station parking lot.

The officer did not notice it was missing until 8 hours later. An extensive search turned up no sign of the weapon, and police are asking anyone who may have picked it up to return it, no questions asked, either to police or a local gun shop.
