The Portsmouth School Board is considering what I think is a great move for older students, especially if you've ever had the challenge of getting a teenager out of bed in the morning.

According to Seacoast Online, they are proposing that school starts at 8:35 and instead of 7:35 am, citing a 2014 recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which also recommended that school start earlier for younger students. The study argues that a teenager's lifestyle is more prone to staying up late and missing sleep so the change in start times would help counter having half asleep students in class.

Do you agree with the proposal? I do. My kids struggled mightily to get out of bed for school and waking up just an hour later would have been a big help. Or, perhaps you are of the mind set that this would make it too easy on kids and they'll still stay up too late anyway. Take our Big Drive Home Poll and let us know where you come down on this.
