Bike Race to Close Portsmouth Streets on Sunday

Traffic on many streets in Portsmouth will be affected by the Portsmouth Criterium Bicycle Race on Sunday morning and we have the list of closures.

The Portsmouth Police Department will shut down the following streets for the race between 7:30 am and 1 pm. Anyone who is parked on one of the closed roads will be towed away beginning at 7:30 am. Police also say there may be significant delays downtown because of the race. Here are the roads that are affected:

Maplewood Ave from Hanover Street to Middle Street
State Street from Middle to Washington Street
Pleasant Street from Court Street to Market Square
Congress Street
Market Square
Fleet Street from Hanover Street to Court Street
Market Street from Bow Street to Market Square
Daniel Street from Chapel Street to Market Square
Penhallow Street
High Street from Market Square to Ladd Street
Ladd Street
Church Street
Court Place
Chestnut Street (both sections)
Porter Street
Haven Court
Sheafe Street
