It's been a good long while since we've heard anything from the front of AMC's forthcoming 'Breaking Bad' prequel-sequel (maybe) series 'Better Call Saul,' apart from its November premiere or returning stars Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks. Now, the spinoff series has officially cast its first new character, adding Christopher Guest alum Michael McKean into the mix.

AMC has only revealed so much information about the 'Breaking Bad' prequel spinoff series, but Deadline reports that 'Better Call Saul' will feature McKean in the regular role of Dr. Thurber, a brilliant attorney now restricted by an unusual affliction. Other roles yet to be cast include that of the "Kennedy-type" white-shoe law firm lawyer Burt, fellow lawyer Beth, career criminal Eddie, and 20-something skateboarding twins Zak and Luke.

Apart from its November 2014 premiere, much of ‘Better Call Saul’ remains shrouded in mystery, as series star Bob Odenkirk suggested the spinoff could well catch up with Saul post-’Breaking Bad,’ despite its prequel nature. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have also expressed their interest in appearing on the series, though Dean Norris appeared to reject the idea.

We'll keep our judgement reserved on 'Better Call Saul' for the moment, but what do you think? Does Michael McKean sound like he'd fit right into the world of AMC's 'Breaking Bad' spinoff? Tell us what you want to see from 'Better Call Saul' in the comments!
