We're approaching the one year anniversary of the beginning of the Market Basket saga, and now prestigious schools of business are studying the events of last summer.

The company made headlines and national news when customers boycotted the stores and employees openly protested the firing of CEO Arthur T. De Moulas. It was very eerie to walk into a empty Market Basket store only to see empty shelves and workers with nothing to do.

Now, the business brain trust of MIT has analyzed  how those loyal to "Artie T" won the battle for their boss and his chain of stores. Market Basket had been know for low prices, being loyal to their workers and paying them well. These all contributed to the outcome that is called "the business story of the year".
