Over vacation this past summer, I had the chance to visit the always beautiful Odiorne State Park in Rye. I'm a big fan of the rocky shore, lighthouse views, bike paths, and Fort Dearborn. I was not expecting this, though. Cairns everywhere!

Dozens of intricate rock piles, or cairns, lined the shore at the Rye park. These were skillfully assembled and just beautiful. I'd heard about them before, and caught a glimpse of them on occasion (probably remnants that survived high tide), but nothing quite like this. Now that I've cleared space on my phone for more photos, expect my foliage pics to be shared, oh, sometime in December!
