After nearly four hours, Seabrook police took a man into custody after he barricaded himself, and threatened self harm this morning.

According to Seacoast Online, James Pontoo of Seabrook was arrested on charges of criminal threatening and reckless conduct after a standoff with police. Both are felony charges. 53 year old Pontoo surrendered without incident.

Seacoast reported this morning that a Seabrook police officer was was allowed to enter the house after he arrived. A man in a second floor bedroom had threatened to harm himself, and had a gun. After repeated attempts to diffuse the situation, the officer backed off after Pontoo threatened to harm him. Seabrook police reported on their Twitter page there would be a perimeter set up around the residence at 33 Walton road. For a time, a portion of the road between Route 1, and the road's bridge was closed.

Pontoo will be arraigned in Rockingham Superior Court tomorrow.
