Sam Alex has worked for country stations across the nation and never misses his favorite acts when they come to town. He's been on red carpets for many different awards shows and interviewed some of your favorite celebrities, like Will Ferrell and Taylor Swift. Originally from Chicago, Sam now lives in Nashville, where he hosts the Taste of Country Nights radio show, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 75 stations nationwide. If you ever see him on lower Broadway, get him a pina colada and some BBQ chicken pizza
I started my career in radio in 2012 as an intern here at WOKQ. When I started, I helped out with production, and then I began working with the Morning Waking Crew in December of 2012. I was the Morning Waking Crew Assistant until 2015. It was a lot of fun being on the Morning Waking Crew despite the early morning alarm. Then I moved behind the scenes of studio big doing production for the station. Now, I am honored to spend the overnight hours with the best radio listeners
Hi there! First of all, let me just say how much I love working at such an awesome radio station with a great staff of people to work alongside every day! Prior to here, I've spent time on the air at radio stations in Boston, Portsmouth NH, and most recently Manchester, NH. For a time I also worked in concert development and production in New York City. Booking acts for venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. When I’m not behind the mic, chances are you can find me either deep sea fishing off the coast of the Massachusetts North Shore or riding my Harley on a beautiful summer New England day! I’m a New Hampshire native- originally hailing from Atkinson
I’ve been in the radio/tv biz for twenty years and this is a great gig! I was featured in the Spring, 2010 edition of “Applaud Women Magazine,” as part of their “Inspirational Women In Media” issue. I go for walks with my dog, Brandy and yes, I push her in a doggie stroller. (don't judge)! I love pizza, my family and my friends. Be sure to listen weekdays between 10a-3p. Thanks for stopping by.
On the Telephone Flea Market I get to talk to 100 of my closest friends for 5 hours every Sunday. One of the weirdest things ever sold on the Flea Market...a toilet (not new). Actually I don't remember if it was sold or ended up as a freebie...either way the guy argued with me when I told him he couldn't sell a used toilet. He said "it ain't in the rules"...I said something like it was not something anyone would want to buy and moved on to another call
I feel beyond lucky to be on the air everyday! I have been performing in community theater all my life and still like to participate in and see live theater whenever I can! It was my love of theater that led me to radio because being on the radio is performing in a sense. The only difference is you get to play the role of yourself! In my spare time I love going to concerts, eating anything that involves cheese and taking group fitness classes. (to offset all the cheese
