Just what America needs, another social media website. This one PEEPLE gives you a chance to rate the personalities of folks you encounter day to day.

The initial categories on the site are Personal, Professional, and Dating.  According to CBS News the two entrepreneurs who created the app are getting a lot of negative feedback and it hasn't even gone on-line yet.  Julia Cordray and Nicolle McCullough are partners.  It was McCullogh who came up with the idea.

CBS reported:

She and Cordray, her best friend and business partner, say they developed the app mainly for parents who want to know about the people with whom their kids are interacting, urban online daters who want to know what they're getting into before the first date, and professionals who want prospective employers to know how much they were liked at their last job

PEEPLE's Facebook page has been inundated by negative feedback, some calling it a disgusting idea.

According to The Washington Post the company is already valued at 7.6 Million dollars.

The owners say modifications to the site are being considered.

I have to admit I agree with the majority.  Even with good intentions do we need any more social media sites which potentially tear down the self esteem of individuals of any age.  I grant you everyone is entitled to their opinion but we seldom hear positive feedback especially on the web.
