Does New Hampshire Prefer Marvel Or DC Super Heroes?
Growing up I loved Batman. I used to watch re-runs of the campy 1960's Batman and Robin, starring Adam West and Burt Ward, every day after school. My mom even gave me a yellow bath towel that I used as a cape...I was a big fan of Robin, The Boy Wonder. C'mon...don't laugh, I was in grade school.
As I got older, TV was full of superheroes. There was The Incredible Hulk, starring Bill Bixby as mild-mannered David Banner, and Lou Ferrigno as his big green alter-ego, The Hulk. Who could forget the line he said every week, "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
Then there was The Amazing Spiderman. The live action TV series only lasted for a year (1978-1979). Probably because there were so many animated series featuring Spiderman that were much more memorable.
Outside of those three, I was never much of a Super Hero fan. But I have friends that were...and still are...hard core. They're either DC Comics or Marvel Comics. And according to USDish.com...most people are one or the other.
They did a survey of fans all across the United States to find out which was most popular in every state. New Hampshire, as well as all of New England seems to come down on the side of Marvel. As a matter of fact only eight states prefer DC Comics heroes. Four states are on the fence about their favorites.
