Dover Business Building Evacuated [NEWS]

(Dover, NH) - A burned-out air conditioner motor filled a downtown Dover business block with smoke Thursday afternoon, forcing an evacuation for close to an hour.

Firefighters were called to 392-394 Central Avenue just before 2 pm and found smoke throughout the 3-story building. Employees were evacuated from Jewelry Creations and Merrimack Mortgage on the ground floor, and 7 upstairs condo-units were emptied until the smoke could be cleared.

The all-clear was sounded around 3pm and there were no injuries.
