( Dover, N.H. ) - Police in Dover have arrested a husband and wife on multiple counts of prescription fraud and one count of criminal trespass.

  Police say 38 year old Kristyn Chaplin of Dover would call in a prescription, posing as a nurse,  and send her husband 39 year old Shawn Chaplin, also of Dover to pick it up  for her. Police say this occurred at 5 pharmacies throughout  the city.

New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Strelzin  has confirmed the investigation of a probable  homicide  in Nashua.  Police responded to a report of an injured man on a bike path near 57 Palm Street.  The victim, 49 year old Benjamin Marcum, who lived there, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.  An autopsy is scheduled today

The future of the Keene Pumpkin Festival remains in doubt after a city council committee unanimously rejected a permit request to hold  it this year. The event was overshadowed last year by violent disturbances nearby. The permit request now heads to the full city council.

New Hampshire is getting an $8.6 million dollar federal grant to provide rental assistance for people suffering from severe mental illness.  The award, designed to be used over five years, will help with community-based housing for up to 150 low-income people or families.

President Barack Obama has declared a major disaster in Maine following the severe winter storm that brought snow and flooding to the state Jan. 26-28. This will allow the federal government to help state, local and tribal governments to repair or replace facilities damaged during the storm or pay for cleanup efforts. The declaration, signed yesterday day, is for Androscoggin, Cumberland, and York counties.
