(Dover, NH) - Dover officials will gather this evening at 5 to officially dedicate the new Police Department Building on Chestnut Street.

The completion of the new police department comes after decades of discussion and nearly two years of construction. Prior to the move to the new facility, which took place during the third week of March, the police department had occupied the basement level of Dover City Hall since the mid 1930's.

The keynote speaker is Gov. Maggie Hassan. There will also be remarks by Dover Mayor Karen Weston, Deputy Mayor Bob Carrier, and Dover City Manager J. Michael Joyal, Jr.

The event will include the unveiling of the dedication plaque and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Light refreshments will be available.

Tours of the new facility will begin at the conclusion of the ceremony.

The Chestnut Street entrance to Orchard Street will be blocked off during the ceremony.
