An unconscious woman was located earlier this week by Dover Police Officer Matt Brown and his K-9 Barco after the woman wasn’t found at her home during a welfare check.

According to Fosters.com

Dover Police, officers were dispatched to a High Ridge Drive residence at 8:15 p.m. to check on the woman after an acquaintance told police the woman had texted suicidal comments. After searching the woman’s home and the area for about an hour, officers called for Brown and K-9 Barco to assist with the search.

Approximately 10 minutes after the beginning of the track, K-9 Barco located the woman lying unconscious in heavy brush on a steep bank. The woman, whom police said intoxicated, was transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital by Dover Fire and Rescue for a medical and mental health evaluation. Police said that given the woman’s condition and location where she was found, it was possible that she would not have survived or would have been in a much more dire medical condition had she not been located.

I love these stories of dogs coming to the rescue and saving lives!

Once again, proving to be man's and women's best friend!
