According to Patch.com, An incident of "extreme racial insensitivity" at Dover High School is being investigated.

An 11th grade history class was assigned to select a Reconstruction-era event and write a song about it. The students chose the KKK and paired it with the tune of 'Jingle Bells'. The lyrics were disturbing to say the least; "White masks on our heads, blood beneath our feet, laughing till they're dead -- ha, ha, ha."

WIlliam Harbron, the superintendent of the school district responded to the incident with the followng statement:

Parents, teachers and residents of Dover are completely appalled. A common view is that the teacher should not have given the assignment in the first place. However, it was the student's decision to present that time in history in an insensitive and mocking way. What do you think are the appropriate repercussions?
