CONCORD,N.H.(AP) - A New Hampshire driver is facing two counts of manslaughter in a weekend crash that killed a Vermont couple. The attorney general's office says Robert Dellinger of Sunapee recklessly killed 24-year-old Amanda Murphy and 29-year-old Jason Timmons of Wilder,Vermont, on Saturday when his pick-up cross the median on I-89 in Lebanon and struck their vehicle.  Amanda Murphy was 8 months pregnant.

 

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - It's been five years since a devastating ice storm hit New Hampshire. The storm on December 11th and 12th of 2008 left more than 400,000 residents and businesses without power. More than 450 schools were forced to close and the state suffered more than $150 million in property damage. Four people died and more than 100 others were injured.

 

DOVER, N.H. (AP) - "Exact change" lanes are going away at the Dover and Rochester toll plazas on the Spaulding Turnpike due to the growth of E-ZPass traffic. The removal will take place today and is expected to be done by Friday.

MONTPELIER,Vt.(AP) - About 650 Vermont residents will soon lose their extended unemployment benefits, unless Congress extends the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation Program. The benefits are set to expire on December 28th.

 

PRETORIA, South Africa (AP) - People lined the streets today to watch the procession carrying the casket of Nelson Mandela drive slowly to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, South Africa. They sang old songs from the struggle against the apartheid regime. The flag-draped casket is on display in an amphitheater where Mandela was once sworn in asSouth Africa's first black president.
