Durham Named One of the Safest College Towns in the Country

At this time of year recent high school graduates go off to their freshman year in college. And for those parents who are worried about their children, a recent study should reassure those of you with kids going to University of New Hampshire.

Safewise.com calls themselves the authority on safety and home security news. In their study of the 50 safest college towns across America in 2015, Durham came in 6th on the list. The article credits law enforcement for an outreach into the community as a contributing factor in its high standing in the report.

Amherst Massachusetts followed closely in 8th place as home to the University of Massachusetts and Hanover New Hampshire checked in at number 26th with Dartmouth College.
