The Thursday morning event took most of the afternoon to clean up.

According to the Union Leader, Lucien Glidden Jr., 53, was arrested after the dump truck he was operating carrened through a guardrail and street signs, flipped onto its side, and spilled a load of sand at the Stratham traffic circle. First responders were at the circle around 10 a.m. after Glidden allegedly lost control while attempting to navigate the circle, and travel eastbound on Route 33.  Police Chief John Scippa told the Union Leader “Fortunately no other vehicles were involved and no other people were involved. If there was a line of traffic it could have been significant." Scippa noted Glidden was not hurt as a result of the incident.

The truck was part of Critchett Trucking in Candia. Later Thursday, the company issued a statement, reported by the Union Leader. “Critchett Trucking has a zero tolerance policy for alcohol. This is an unfortunate event and we are glad that no one was seriously injured. We are fully cooperating with the police during this investigation.”
