Firefighters were pulled out of the building minutes before collapse

As the investigation into an early Monday morning fire on State Street in Portsmouth continues, it was revealed that firefighters retreated out of the building only mere minutes before it collapsed.

Portsmouth Fire Chief Steven Achilles told WMUR.....

In hindsight, we pushed the envelope for all the right reasons, but this one's a little closer to home than we knew at the time.

Firefighters exited the building at 2:34 AM, just four minutes before the building fell to the ground. It is believed that no one would have survived such a collapse.
