Through a grant from FEMA, the "Get Alarmed New Hampshire" program will distribute and install the smoke and CO detectors to owner-occupied homes with children 5 years of age or younger, adults 60 years of age or older, or people living with a hearing impairment or disability.

Those receiving the detectors will also be provided fire and CO safety education on how the detectors work, how to test and maintain them and what to do when the alarm sounds.

Eligible residents can sign up for the free safety program by calling 603-516-6067.
