Weare Settles Lawsuit
The Town of Weare will pay $57,500 to settle a federal civil rights lawsuit brought by a woman who says police were wrong to charge her when she videotaped a traffic stop. In a settlement filed yesterday, the town and its police force don't admit wrongdoing. The settlement ends the suit launched by Carla Gericke ofLebanon.

Alleged Canadian shooter captured
Residents inMoncton were able to sleep a little easier last night, following the capture of a man suspected of shooting to death three Royal Canadian Mounted Police and wounding two others. Police captured 24-year-old Justin Bourque just after midnight last night, following an intense search.

Stupid News

This is NOT a Stupid News Story but a feel-good story to end your work week:  As fellow classmates of Zack Ruediger were handed their diplomas during graduation, they all handed money to their principal.  Zack didn't know what was going on, so he dipped into his pocket, took out what money he had and handed it to the principal.  What the teen didn't know was that all his classmates had gotten together and decided to help Zack. You see, Zack lost his mom in 2012 and just days before he graduated, Zack's dad passed away.  The students raised more than $800.

Joke du Jour

Years ago, Mark returned from an overseas trip felling very sick.  He went to see his doctor and was immediately rushed to the hospital to undergo a lot of tests.  When they were over, Mark woke up in a private room.  The phone rang and when Mark answered it he heard the doctor say:
"Your test results came back and you have a very rare contagious disease.  We need to put you on a strict diet of pizza, pancakes and pita bread.  It won't cure you, but it's the only food we can slide under the door!"
