(Hampton, NH) - A Hampton man faces charges after police stopped him from Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol twice in one day last month.

Police allege that Thomas Dwyer Jr., 54, of Hampton was Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol on April 29, 2016 at 10:20am on Stowecroft Drive in Hampton. Police allege that on this call, Dwyer was operating his vehicle on Exeter Road prior to turning onto
Stowecroft Drive. Police made contact with Dwyer and after an investigation,
determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and placed him into custody.
Dwyer’s vehicle was towed from the scene and he was later released from custody on
personal recognizance bail. A condition of his bail was that he was to refrain from
excessive use of alcohol.

At approximately 8:26 pm that same day, the Hampton Police Department again
came into contact with Dwyer who was operating his vehicle in the area of Hampton
Meadows. Police say that after an investigation, Dwyer was again, determined to be
driving under the influence of alcohol and that they also found alcoholic beverage
containers in the driver compartment of the vehicle. Officers placed Dwyer under arrest
for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and for breaching the conditions of his
previous bail order.

Dwyer was later transported to the Rockingham County Jail and held without bail until
his arraignment on Monday May 2, 2016. At his arraignment, Dwyer plead Not Guilty to
the charges and had a cash bail of $1,500 set by the judge. Dwyer is due back to court
on June 21, 2016.
