If you're a dog owner, more than likely at one point or another, you've seen your dog dining on grass. But, is it safe for them? That's the question.

Weather permitting, some of our furry family members make this a daily dining experience. The good news is many pet experts say this isn't something that should cause you alarm.

The modern dog, partly because of evolution and domestication, is no longer like its ancestors, which frequently ate their prey entirely, including the stomach contents of plant-eating animals. Instead, dogs today seek out plants as an alternative food source.

It's the clean-up after they chow down on the grass that's an issue for many dog owners.

If you can handle the occasional 'accident' owning a dog, cat or any other furry friend is one of the best things you'll ever do.
