How Did New England Do in a Recent Survey of Favorite Cocktails?

It's Friday afternoon and if your thoughts are turning to fun on the weekend, you're not alone. A blog I was checking out recently conducted a Google trends survey of what cocktails people prefer in different areas of the country. Northern New England goes for cosmos while the Bay State is solid martini country. Sex on the beach is big in the upper mid-west while a sidecar rules the left coast. What's your favorite cocktail? Mine would be a plain old martini, and no flavored vodka please.

What do you think of these types of surveys, and how accurate do you think they really are? When I go out, the predominant drink I always see is a beer. If they included beer in this survey, I'm thinking that would be the hands down winner.
