Here is hoping that you never have to experience this problem, but in the midst of the snowiest few weeks ever, many of us are faced with ice dams threatening our roofs.

I'm not an expert at this stuff and you should consult a professional for their advice. But, here are a few things I found out when I looked at my back roof and saw a foot of ice on it.  My insurance company has a web page devoted to removing ice dams. It may be too late for many of us this season, but there are ways to prevent ice dams in the future.

Many of us in Studio Big are having these issues like many of you.  I'm trying out putting some ice melt on the roof to make a channel for the water to escape through. If you have access to something called an evaporator, that's apparently one of the best ways to get rid of the glaciers on top of your house. Again, please use your best common sense, consult a professional and stay safe.
