Is A Telescope On Your Christmas Shopping List?
(Concord, NH) - It's hard to believe, but there are only 79 more shopping days until Christmas.
Some stores are already putting up their holiday decorations, and your your mailbox is probably already filled with flyers and catalogs packed with bargains.
The New Hampshire Astronomical Society is offering some help for those planning on giving a telescope for the holidays. They will hold a presentation this Friday night at 8 at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium in Concord.
Guest speaker for the evening is Ed Ting, a well-known amateur astronomer who speaks regularly on the topic throughout New England. His writings have appeared in magazines like Amateur Astronomy, Night Sky and Sky and Telescope. He has a popular telescope review site at www.scopereviews.com.
For those interested there will also be several types of telescopes on display as well as handouts listing astronomy-related resources and information.
