It used to be you went to the mall to play Donkey Kong and shop at The Gap. Now you might go to experience... Shakespeare?

The Concord Monitor reports that Hatfield Theatre is moving into the space once occupied by Coldwater Creek. If you recall, this was the one store that didn't access to the inside of the mall-- this will allow the theater to stay open a bit later than the remainder of the mall.

You expect Hatfield Theatre to offer not just plays but a variety of entertainment including (but not limited to) comedy shows, burlesque, poetry readings and live music. Here's hoping they can put on the stage version of Clueless at their new mall location-- I mean, as if!

The 92+ seat theater opens on Friday, April 1st with 2 Across. It is described as "an unemployed ad executive and an uptight psychologist, newspapers in hand, board the 4:30am commuter train as strangers. By the end of the line, they've finished their crosswords and launched a friendship."

No word on whether Mrs. Fields Cookies and Orange Julius' will be served at intermission.
