We're so happy to announce a long time friend of The Morning Waking Crew has landed himself a record deal.Many of you know Tom Dixon from his years performing throughout New England with The Tom Dixon Band.  Just a little over a year ago, Tom moved to Nashville to pursue his dream.  Well, we're happy to announce he has landed himself a record deal!

Hundreds of Shiite refugees are still waiting at a checkpoint in Iraq, hoping to be let into the country's Kurdish-controlled territory. They're facing delays because they lack sponsors. Crowds converged on the checkpoint amid fears of advances by Sunni militants. Large numbers of displaced people, including Shiites and Christians, have already sought shelter in the relative safety of the Kurdish region.

Jurors To Begin Deliberations In Mazzaglia Case
Jurors are scheduled to begin deliberating first-degree murder and other charges today in the case of a Dover man accused of raping and killing a University of New Hampshire student. Seth Mazzaglia is charged in the 2012 death of Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott of Westborough, Massachusetts.

Overnight Flooding In Woodstock
The overnight heavy rainfall has caused flooding in Woodstock, washing out some roadways and prompting campground evacuations. The high water has closed a section of Route 112 but the town's police chief, Doug Moorehead says the water is receding and he hopes the highway can reopen later this morning.
