Summertime in New England is about beer and lobster. Maine based Oxbow Brewing decided that we ought to have both at the same time. Literally.

Brewmaster Tim Adams told the Associated Press that the lobsters were placed in a mesh bag and suspended in a kettle of boiling wort during the brewing process. The saison-style beer is said to have a subtle brininess, because who hasn't thought "I wish this beer was brinier."

Oxbow's Saison Dell'Aragosta (Italian for Lobsterfest) was brewed in collaboration with Birrificio del Ducato Italy, and like summer is only available for a limited time so seek it out as soon as you can. No word on whether a fried clam stout is in the offing but a boy can dream.

Mmm... fried clam beer...
