Call me subtle and understated...maybe even old-fashioned, but I feel like most people take their mom out for brunch, or give her a nice card on Mother's Day. However, a man in Buxton, ME, decided to be a little more original in creating a lasting Mother's Day memory for his mom.

According to WGME-TV, he's accused of pulling a gun on his mom.

When the Gorham Police Department, assisted by Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputies showed up to help Buxton officers, they reportedly found Adam Sanborn inside. But he refused to answer the door, according to WGME. Thankfully, his mom was at a different location.

WGME says police closed off Parker Farm Road for two hours while they tried talking to Sanborn. Finally, he came out of the house and was arrested for domestic violence.

It just seems like it would have been easier to give his mom a gift card and some flowers. But it's still a Mother's Day neither will forget.
