Maine Officials Investigate Weekend Homicide

(Whitneyville, Me.) - Maine State Police say the death of a man Saturday in Whitneyville has been ruled a homicide.

Fire officials were called around 2 am Saturday for a house fire at 54 Middle Street in Whitneyville.

The State Fire Marshal's office began to investigate the cause, and located human remains in the burned-out mobile home. The remains were later identified as 48 year old Wayne Foss, a commercial fisherman who lived in the home with his wife and son.

Officials say Foss' family was not home Friday night.

The cause and manner of death have not been released, but the death has been ruled a homicide.
