According to the Associated Press, police in Maine are investigating the death of a woman who was stabbed outside of a laundromat downtown Lewiston.

Authorities say Kimbery Dobbie, 48-years-old, was stabbed Sunday morning and died later in the day at Central Maine Medical Center.

Investigators say, Dobbie had just started a load of laundry and had taken her two young children outside when the assault took place. Police say a witness managed to subdue the alleged assailant until authorities could arrive. The suspect, who has not been identified was quickly taken into custody.
