gofundme page has been set up to benefit Tonya Carpenter, the woman who was struck by a flying bat on Friday night at Fenway Park.

Carpenter was attending the baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Athletics. She was behind the visitors on deck circle when the bat shattered and it flew back, striking her in the forehead. She remains in serious condition according to WMUR-TV 9 in Manchester.

Fox News reports that the incident has renewed interest in the safety of fans at games. Changes were made after the 2008  season and fan injures have fallen since then.
