Manchester Central Tells Senior That His Prom Date is Too Old For Prom

Sultan Akhter is forbidden by the school to bring his 22 year old girlfriend of four years

Sultan Akhter is an 18 year old Senior at Manchester High School Central.  The Union Leader Reports states that he's a member of  the school's tennis team and also a member of the school's marketing club.

Akhter is making headlines because he was told that his intended prom date is too old to attend according to school policy.

He's been dating 22 year old Kaitlyn Orzechowski of Hooksett for four years now

The "policy" seems a little fishy though.  Manchester Assistant Superintendent Chris Martin told the Union Leader that the policy isn't written down.  Martin went on to say.....

This is a school-level procedure developed over the years to address problems they’ve had in the past,” Martin said. “We want to make sure everyone is behaving at the prom. That rule was set for safety’s sake

Akhter acknowledge that he feels left out telling the Union Leader......

It’s my last fling with my friends.  All my friends are bringing their dates; they’re going to have a good time. I can’t have a good time with my girlfriend.

 

Today was the deadline for purchasing prom tickets which will be held at the Radisson next Friday.
