The Market Basket food fight is over but it appears a local filmmaker may be on his way to bringing the battle to a theatre near you.

It took six weeks during the summer of 2014, but the loyal employees, customers and vendors who stood behind their man, Artie T. DeMoulas, were able to take a victory lap after battling corporate greed. It appears Exeter,New Hampshire filmmaker, Jay Childs, through a Kickstarter campaign is on his way to producing a documentary film about the Market Basket saga.

Jay Schrieber of the Union Leader, reported Thursday that Childs was less than $2,000 away from his goal, with a deadline of Sunday. However, it now seems the filmmaker is will be shooting film for “Food Fight: Inside the Battle for Market Basket.” Childs will be seeking more funding down the road.
