Police in Greenfield, Massachusetts have hired a new officer. WCVB-TV in Boston says the department recently added a 7 year-old Saint Bernard, named Clarence to help train their newest addition to the force...a nine week-old puppy, named Donut.

It's good to see the Greenfield police department is having a little fun at their own expense. By the way...Donut is now being referred to as Officer Donut.

According to the departments Facebook page, "the dogs work with victims of crime, assist the department's Crisis Intervention Team with defusing mental health emergencies, help lower anxiety and fear at the time of tragic or crisis incidents, assist first responders, defuse and debrief after a crisis, and may be available for meet and greets at large scale events."

Officer Donut even has his own Facebook page!
