Since the Patriots aren't playing in the Super Bowl, is anyone really going to watch the game?  You can view all the commercials online, so why not keep the channel on Animal Planet and cheer on a local puppy taking part in Puppy Bowl X!

For those of you new to Puppy Bowl, it all started 10 years ago when Animal Planet had the brilliant idea to air Puppy Bowl opposite the Super Bowl for those that weren't interested in spending a Sunday eating nachos, belching, and drinking beer. I'm assuming they were marketing to women more than men!

It's filmed a few months in advance of its airing on February 2nd and all the puppies are from shelters across the U.S.  This year, one of the puppies participating is from New Hampshire!  "Wyatt," a 12-week-old Terrier mix (when the game was filmed in October) is from the Humane Society of Greater Nashua.  Check out all the adorable four-legged all-stars who will be in the starting lineup!  For highlights throughout the game, follow @meepthebird on Twitter.

Oh, almost forgot to mention, the halftime entertainment during Puppy Bowl X is Keyboard Cat!
