NC deadline
Federal funding penalties and a possible federal lawsuit loom over North Carolina today over a new state law limiting protections for LGBT people. North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory shows no signs of backing down in the face of the federal government's deadline to declare he won't enforce the law. And there's no sign the legislature has any inclination to repeal it.

Mass man dead following NH accident
Police say a 23-year-old Massachusetts man was killed and his passenger was injured in a weekend crash in eastern New Hampshire that left nearly 1,500 residents without power. Edward Conway was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday after he struck an electrical pole near the area of Ossipee Lake Road in Freedom around 7:30 a.m.
