'Blade runner' sentenced
A judge in South Africa has sentenced Oscar Pistorius to six years in prison for murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in 2013. Pistorius had faced a possible 15-year jail term. But the judge said substantial and compelling circumstances in the double-amputee Olympic runner's case merited a lesser sentence.

Mental health unit opens in Concord
A new 10-bed mental health crisis unit is open at New Hampshire Hospital after almost a year of delays. The unit opened Tuesday and will admit people over 18 for stays of three days or less.
