Dow ruling expected today
A state Supreme Court ruling is expected today on an appeal by a man accused of torturing his girlfriend's 3-year-old son in 2012. Roland Dow says Jessica Linscott should have been barred from testifying that Dow had abused her. He is serving a 25 1/2-to-67 year prison sentence.
Committee to discuss carbon monoxide detectors
A legislative committee is taking up a proposal that would provide more flexibility in making carbon monoxide detectors mandatory in more buildings. Current state law requires carbon monoxide detectors to use either 10-year batteries or to be connected to electrical service. A proposal would ease the requirement of a 10-year battery in certain cases.
