Marine Corps doesn't want women in combat jobs
The Marine Corps plans to ask that women not be allowed to compete for several front-line combat jobs. No final decisions have been made or forwarded to Pentagon leaders, but the tentative decision has ignited a debate over whether Navy Secretary Ray Mabus could veto any Marine Corps proposal to prohibit women from serving in certain infantry and reconnaissance positions. Defense Secretary Ash Carter intends to review the plan.

Governor Maggie Hassan is supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton for president. The Democratic governor will join Clinton at the University of New Hampshire in Durham today to officially endorse the former first lady and secretary of state for president.

New York man faces felony charges after alleged assault in Salem motel
Authorities say a New York man used social media to lure a 13-year-old girl from her home and sexually assault her at a Salem motel. Gurjinder Ghorta faces felony charges in two towns. Authorities say he sent the girl text messages containing sexually explicit comments.
