MWC Daily: Taste of Country Music Festival Featured in Throwback Thursday

Since we're giving away single-day tickets this week to the Taste of Country Music Festival, I thought it might be kind of fun to go back in time with the 3 headliners.

Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Toby Keith. How fantastic would it be to see one or all of those artists in person? You can purchase single-day tickets as well as entire 3-day festival tickets. Loretta Lynch up for Senate confirmation vote
The Senate is expected today to confirm Loretta Lynch as the next U.S. attorney general. The vote comes five months after Lynch was nominated by President Barack Obama. If confirmed, Lynch would be the nation's first black female attorney general.

Funeral for Downing to be held today
Funeral services will be held this morning for Rockingham County Sheriff Michael Downing, who died last week. Downing was elected sheriff in 2010, also spending time as a state trooper and serving several terms as a state lawmaker. Governor Maggie Hassan has directed that flags fly at half-staff today in Downing's honor.

Northern New England on low end of land value
Northern New England is on the lower end when it comes to a new estimate of states' land values. The Wall Street Journal reports the analysis in a Commerce Department report puts the average land value in New Hampshire at just under $20,000 an acre, with Vermont's average at $7,400 and Maine at $6,100. Southern New England states saw values averaging better than $100,000.
