Getting ready for the big snowstorm
A big snowstorm is headed for the eastern US with potentially paralyzing snow this weekend. The National Weather Service says 12 to 16 inches of snow could come down between Friday night and Sunday morning around the Interstate 95 corridor.

Court hearing today for fishermen
A federal court hearing is set in Concord today as some Eastern fishermen challenge the federal government on the cost of at-sea monitoring. Fishermen are seeking an injunction to hold off plans to force them to start paying the cost of the monitors under new fishing regulations saying it could break them financially.

Shine sentenced
A Franklin woman has admitted to her role in a scheme to traffic a 14-year-old girl for prostitution. Reports say under a plea deal, Julie Shine will serve an 11-to-30 year prison sentence. Shine and her husband tried to sell the girl to a police informant in 2014.
