All eyes on Hurricane Patricia
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says maximum sustained winds from Category 5 Hurricane Patricia are now near 200 mph. Forecasters are calling the storm "potentially catastrophic" as it bears down on southwest Mexico, where it could make landfall later today.

Commission to meet today to discuss new funding
A commission tasked with tackling the state's growing drug abuse problem is set to discuss today how it will spend more than $3 million in new funding included in the state budget. The Governor's Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery has $6.7 million to spend over the biennium, double what it had in the last budget.

Tarmey memorial set for tonight 
A memorial service will be held tonight for a 17-year-old girl whose body was found in a Rochester motel room last weekend. Evangelique "Eve" Tarmey was a student at Spaulding High School. Her friends are holding a candlelight vigil for her Sunday night. Her cause of death remains under investigation.
